What steps are involved in an Invisalign procedure?

STEP 1 – INITIAL CONSULTATION

STEP 3 – CUSTOM MADE ALIGNERS

Once you finalise your customised treatment programme, a series of bespoke aligners are made for you. You will wear each aligner for around two weeks before switching to the next one. The process can take anywhere between 3-24 months, depending on the extent of tooth movements required.

STEP 4 – YOUR TREATMENT PROGRESS

Every 4 – 6 weeks, you’ll visit your dentist for a check-up and receive your next series of aligners. The aligners are worn both day and night and only removed to eat or clean teeth. This allows gradual changes in the positioning of your teeth.

HOW LONG DO YOU WEAR EACH INVISALIGN RETAINER?

You will wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners every 2 weeks, as directed by your dentist. Each set of aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into place, according to your treatment plan, until you reach your beautiful new smile.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU SEE A DENTIST WITH INVISALIGN?

Your dentist will want to see you anywhere between 4 – 6 weeks to ensure your treatment is moving along well and that your aligners are fitting properly.

DO YOU WEAR A RETAINER AFTER INVISALIGN?

Once your aligners are removed, you’ll need to wear your retainers for at least 22 hours a day, or as recommended by your dentist.
